What makes a clean read? For me, it's a book that doesn't require me to skip entire pages or give me nightmares after reading it. So, no explicit sex scenes or horrific violence/descriptions. I don't always read things that fall in that range, either. For instance, I read Silence of the Lambs and found it fascinating. Don't we all wish we could write amazing villains? Granted, I don't want to go the cannibal route... Language doesn't bother me. I know all the bad words and don't use them. I learned most of them in high school, so when my kids get to be that age I won't ban books for language in my house. Explicit sex scenes, yes. To me, that's basically porn. I've got lots of favorite books that I would never recommend to my mother, because she's one of those who thinks it has to be G rated to be worth reading. Hmm.
