You know that thing, where you're working on one book but there's this other, shinier, newer, far-more-enticing story idea that is just BEGGING you to be written?
But that's okay, because you dream about that idea at night, so when you wake up you're grabbing that notepad again, jotting down even more ideas for this fabulous, fun, wonderful book.
Is it just me? No?
Boy, I hope I'm not alone.
This is what I'm dealing with right now. And I have promised myself I need to finish this first book first.
That's all. Just wanted to share.
The End.
It's me!!! Ahah
ReplyDeleteDifferent countries but same feelings!
Greetings from Italy :)
Welcome, friend! Happy to have an Italian around here!
DeleteI'm going through this right now too. I have to finish editing my book like right now. But I just got a very new shiny idea I want to play with. So I wrote the idea down and have given myself permission to outline the idea in between editing sessions. And if I finish editing my book I will allow myself to write this new book do Nanowrimo.
ReplyDeleteYes! It's the only thing that's keeping me going on my current WIP- I keep telling myself that if I can get it in decent shape by the end of October then I'll let myself write this other book for NaNoWriMo. Vegetables before dessert...*sigh*
DeleteYou're not alone. I have a tough time focusing on one project. Only other people's deadlines I think really make me focused enough to finish.
ReplyDeleteYes, I need someone to give me a deadline!
DeleteIt's odd...when I was writing my book, I had lots of distractions, other things I wanted to write. Now that the book is done...blank. It's crazy! Deadlines ARE the key, I think. But I can relate to this!
ReplyDeleteBTW, did you ever receive my book through email? I've emailed you twice to ask...no reply. Just want to make sure you get it. :-) ballpark001@gmail.com
