And She Winds up for the Pitch....

Ok, I don't have time to write a blog post today because I'm too busy reading this article on pitching to agents and editors.  I pitch my LDS non-fiction, self-help book to an editor at Covenant Communications at the end of this month and I am cramming to get ready for it!!  But I'm so excited to do it, I think it will be awesome!!  Anyone here ever pitch to an agent or editor face to face?  Please give me some much needed advice!!

  2. At a conference last year I attended a session on how to pitch your book, by Julie Wright. If you're interested, I summarized it on my blog.

    Good luck!

  3. My favorite pitching advice is the series on pitching at Edittorrent: http://edittorrent.blogspot.com/search/label/pitching

    That includes logline ("Tweet") pitches.

I recently started reading http://pitch-university.com and it seems pretty good, too.

  6. Some good links, here, with some good info. They really do help you prepare because you have to be. Just like you're going to be nervous.

I've been successful with condensing characters, setting, and conflict into about 30 words and if you don't think that's hard, sheesh. but it does help. I also think of a hook--sales point if you will. Partials have been requested but no banana quite yet. I look at it the same way I do writing, practice, practice, and more practice.

    Wishing you the best!
