I don't know if you've all seen it, but on lds.org they have a new section that shows the "mormon messages on youtube". It's awesome. We saw this video last night at enrichment. I know you've all seen this talk by now, but I love the way it was arranged in this video. And seriously? Can we see this message too much? I love it.

  2. Okay, I'm such a baby. I get teary eyed watching that. I just love that message. It is one of the most powerful talks I've ever heard. I will never forget how I felt the first time I heard it and it still speaks to me every time.

  3. When he delivered this message, it was one I needed so bad. I felt guilty for writing and not spending as much time with my kids. But he helped me to see that I wasn't being selfish, that I am just fulfilling the god given desire within me to create something. Today what hit me the most was the line, "Don't let the voice of critics paralyze you." My husband is so good at holding up a mirror for me when I need it. When I complained recently about not being able to write lately for some reason, he told me that I stopped writing after I got all those rejection letters. I tried to deny it, but he's right. I let the voice of critics completely paralyze me. I think I'm ready to move to wake up from my temporary writing coma now. I'm ready to create! Thanks for posting this!

  4. Yes, this was incredible. Candice, I got all choked up, too. Mormon Mommy Writers are so lucky because we get to create on so many levels. I mean, we get to create something that can change the world, and we get to help create SOMEONE who can change the world.

  5. Hmmm...I read my comment through just now, and I think that this applies to all mothers who are writers of course, but in addition to this, we have the understanding that what we create is eternal.

  6. Thanks so much for posting this! I had this video tucked away and was planning on posting it--and then I guess I forgot all about it! I love it! And we all need to remember the awesome words of the Lord! Beautifully said. Jenni

  7. I LOVED this talk when I first heard it! It was at a General Relief Society broadcast, right? I remember sitting there in the chapel, grateful that it was dark because no one could see be blubbering. :)
