Feedback is Priceless

So, as many of you know I'm in the midst of editing. It's why my blog is like a ghost town and my comments have been sporadic. Editing is work. I shouldn't complain though, in fact, I feel super lucky. I had a real, living and breathing agent talk to me on the phone and tell me what would make my book even better. How priceless is that? Well, Jenni James sent me this video that pretty much shows exactly what happened when I hung up the phone with the agent. In fact it's so creepily accurate to what actually happened that I wonder if Star Trek really does take place in the future and they were watching movie clips of my life to get this scene.

  3. That is hilarious! I love the part where he pounds the console then grabs his hair before dropping to his knees and pounding the floor all the while screaming, "NOOOOOOO!" It's every cliche in rapid succession. AWESOME!

  6. That is exactly how I felt inside when my agent said that she thought that I should use another agent. On the outside I just hung my head, burried my face in my hands and cried a few tears. Then I looked through my old emails of agents that liked my work and emailed them my proposal. All you can do is get right back on the horse. What else is there to do (a good rant is always fun..but leaves me with a nasty headache for the rest of the day, so thus the reason I hung my head and cried a few tears instead, agents aren't worth a nasty headache).

  7. I HATE REWRITES!! I HATE REWRITES!! I totally relate to this. Everytime I rewrite something I still have to have it critiqued and something always needs fixed. It's so frustrating! But I'm still plugging along. Even as I sink to my knees pulling out my hair crying, "NO, NO, NO!"
