*sigh* It never ends does it? My fifth book is being published first... My first book will be second. Anyway, the 5th--has gone through (already) 11 rewrites and still counting...
At a SCBWI writer's conference a couple weeks ago I heard a literary agent say, "I don't want to see your first draft. I don't want to see your fourth draft. I want to see your seventh draft."
I like the concept of multi-drafting. It means I have a chance to repent.
By my last count, The Sister Pact went through 26 rewrites before the publisher finally said enough. I think I'm a stupid writer, but rewrites are how it works for me! At least you're organized enough to make a binder.
I lost count a long time ago of how many rewrites and Edits The Keeper of the Crystor has been through. *sigh* The one I'm looking forward to is the LAST one.
Ahh, the first final draft never seems to be the last, does it?
ReplyDeleteIt would only be funny if it was, in fact, a different manuscript you were keeping in there.
ReplyDeleteOkay, it's a little funny. In an "Oh, I'm so there!" kind of way.

ReplyDeleteMy first is up to I believe 15...
Go figure.
LOVE your pushpins!

I think it's very funny, but I LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's both funny and daunting!
ReplyDeleteI think it's very funny when it's someone else's manuscript. Not so funny when it's your own!

ReplyDeleteI hate to think how many times I rewrite a book. Love your binder!
ReplyDeleteAh, Rebecca! You are so cute! I know my husband would laugh at me too!
ReplyDeleteYesterday I got word that Draft 9 arrived safely and is waiting in line to be read. Wish me luck, everyone!
ReplyDeleteLove the push pins :) Excited about your re-write! How many people do you know who have accomplished that much?!? Awesome!
